Assistant Professor Erman Ak is a specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Biruni University Hospital.
He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (2007-2014) as an honor student, ranking 15th in his class, and completed his residency at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine (2014-2020).
His international training includes the Neuroscience Program at Johns Hopkins University (2016), advanced microsurgery training at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan under Prof. Dr. Fu Chan Wei (2018) and the ISAPS Fellowship Program in facial and breast aesthetic surgery at Villa Bella Clinic in Italy with Prof. Dr. Giovanni Botti and Chiara Botti (2022). He holds the EBOPRAS European Board of Plastic Surgery qualification (2021).
His professional experience includes the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital (2019-2023) before joining Biruni University in 2025.
His clinical interests include hand surgery and congenital hand anomalies, nerve transfers, cleft lip and palate surgery, orthognathic surgery, free fibula flap bone reconstruction, craniofacial surgery, complex reconstructive procedures, facial and breast aesthetic surgery and body contouring techniques.
He has presented at numerous international congresses and is a member of the Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association, ISAPS and EBOPRAS, and served in the TPRECD Facial Aesthetics Working Group (2024-2025).
