Assistant Professor Pırıltı ÖZCAN

Assistant Professor Pırıltı Özcan is a general surgeon at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

She graduated from Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2018 and completed her general surgery residency training at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, in 2024. She also completed an observership in oncoplastic breast surgery at Institut Curie in Paris and holds board certification from the Turkish Surgical Association.

She worked as a general practitioner at the University of Health Sciences Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital (2018) and as a specialist physician at Yerköy Martyr Lieutenant General Osman Erbaş State Hospital (2024–2026) before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in 2026.

Her clinical interests are breast surgery and oncoplastic breast surgery.

Her research covers colorectal and stoma surgery, laparoscopic techniques, and cytoreductive surgery with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) for peritoneal carcinomatosis, with articles published in international and national peer-reviewed journals. She is a member of the Turkish Surgical Association, the Turkish Society of Colorectal Surgery and the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association.
