Oncology Female Check-Up
A bilateral mammogram, liquid-based cervical cytology, a whole abdominal ultrasound and five tumor markers, read together by one physician. Twenty-eight items in a single day, designed for women over 40.
About This Department
Twenty-eight checks, all of them pointed at the same question.
A bilateral mammogram, liquid-based cervical cytology, a whole abdominal ultrasound, five tumor markers and a gynecology examination. Built for women over 40 and finished in a single day in Istanbul, with a physician explaining the results before you leave.
Everything Included in the Oncology Female Panel
Two consultations with cervical screening, five tumor markers, three imaging studies and seventeen laboratory tests, all under a single price.
Liquid-based cytology suspends the cells in fluid instead of smearing them onto a slide. Fewer samples come back unreadable that way, which matters a great deal when the woman being sampled has flown in for the day.
Five numbers drawn at the same time, read together and kept as your personal baseline. What they are for, and what they cannot do, is set out further down this page in plain terms.
The abdominal scan sweeps liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, bladder, uterus and ovaries in one pass, which is why it sits directly beside the marker panel rather than anywhere else in the day.
These are the organ-function tests an oncologist wants underneath a marker panel. Liver enzymes, bilirubin and LDH in particular change how a raised marker gets interpreted.
The mammogram and the cervical cytology are the two tests in this panel with decades of evidence behind them. Organized breast screening lowers deaths from breast cancer, and cervical screening has cut cervical cancer rates dramatically wherever it has been run properly, largely because it catches changes years before they become a cancer at all. Everything else here plays a supporting role. The tumor markers give you a personal baseline and a set of numbers your physician reads alongside the scans. The ultrasound looks at organs no blood test can reach. Understanding that order matters, because a woman who books this expecting the marker panel to be the important part has it exactly the wrong way round.

| Inside the panel | Add at booking, or look at another package |
|---|---|
| Bilateral mammography with a gynecology examination | Breast ultrasound alongside the mammogram, useful in dense breasts |
| Liquid-based cervical cytology | An HPV test taken from the same sample |
| Five tumor markers and a complete abdominal ultrasound | Bowel screening, from a stool test up to a colonoscopy |
| Chest X-ray and seventeen organ-function tests | Low-dose lung CT, which is the real screening tool for smokers |
| Closing consultation with a written report | The Executive package, if you want endoscopy and cross-sectional imaging too |
What This Panel Is Built to Catch
Breast and Cervix in One Morning
Two invitations that normally arrive months apart, and that plenty of women postpone twice before acting. Here they happen inside the same appointment, with the gynecologist who examines you also taking the sample.
Cytology That Travels Well
Blood, mucus or a thin spread can leave a conventional smear unreadable. Suspending the cells in fluid removes most of that problem. It spares you the one outcome nobody wants after flying in for the day, which is being asked to come back and do it again.
Numbers Read Beside a Scan
A raised CA 125 arriving alone in an envelope causes weeks of fear. The same figure, read next to an ultrasound of your ovaries by a physician sitting opposite you, usually causes a short conversation instead.
A Baseline You Can Measure Against
The first mammogram and the first marker set are worth most in what they make possible later. Next year a radiologist compares images instead of guessing, and a physician watches a trend instead of a single value.
How the Day Runs
Registration and Bloods, 9am
One fasting draw supplies all seventeen laboratory tests and the five markers, and the urine sample goes in at the same desk. Breakfast comes straight afterwards.
Ultrasound, Mammogram and Chest X-Ray
The abdominal scan is done while the fast still holds, because an empty gallbladder is far easier to read. The mammogram and the chest film follow. A radiologist reports each of them the same day.
Gynecology, With the Cytology Sample
The examination and the liquid-based cytology happen together, and the gynecologist already has your ultrasound images and your marker figures in front of her rather than working blind.
Results Explained, Around 4pm
Bloods, markers and all three imaging reports come back within the day and are explained to you face to face, with a written report to take home. Only the cytology takes longer, since the cells have to be read under a microscope, and that report is sent to you afterwards.
Getting Ready
Pap Smear Instructions: Please schedule your Pap smear when you are not menstruating. For 48 hours before the test, avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal medications, creams, lubricants, and douching.
Liquid-based cytology follows the same rules. This is the one item on the list where the calendar decides the outcome, so tell the coordinator where you are in your cycle while the dates are still open. Anything coating the cervix can obscure the cells and cost you a repeat.
Leave off deodorant, talcum powder and body lotion above the waist that morning. Traces of them show up on the images as small white specks that can be mistaken for something else, and the usual result is a repeat film.
A two-piece outfit is easier than a dress. If you have had a mammogram before, bring the images or the report, because comparing this year against last year is worth more than either one alone.
Your usual dinner and nothing after it. That single instruction covers the glucose, the HbA1c and the abdominal ultrasound in one go.
Is This the Right Panel for You?
- Over 40, and the mammogram has been on your list for a while
- Breast, ovarian or bowel cancer somewhere in your family
- A cervical smear you cannot remember the date of
- You want a screening trip rather than a general check-up
- Living somewhere with no organized screening program to invite you
- Ready to start a yearly baseline you can measure against
This panel screens a woman who feels well. Where something has already been found, or already hurts, what you need is a diagnostic appointment, and that is a different conversation entirely.
- A breast lump you can feel, or a change in the skin or nipple
- Bleeding after intercourse, between periods, or after menopause
- A cancer already diagnosed or already under investigation
This panel is designed for women over 40 years of age. Under 40 a mammogram is rarely the right first choice, so the Nova Vita or Integrum packages usually suit better, and the coordinator will tell you which.
Three Things Worth Understanding About Tumor Markers
Tumor markers monitor rather than diagnose. No marker on this list can tell you whether you have cancer. A woman with cancer can have entirely normal figures, and a woman with nothing wrong can have a raised one. What they give you here is a baseline plus a set of values a physician reads beside your scans on the day.
CA 125 in particular moves for benign reasons. Fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts and simple ovulation all push it up, which is why no country screens for ovarian cancer with it. That is precisely why the abdominal ultrasound is in the same package, so the number never has to stand on its own.
Normal markers are not a clean bill of health. They cover a handful of organs and say nothing about the rest, and they cannot replace the mammogram, the cytology or the scan. The value of the panel comes from all twenty-eight items being read together by one physician.
Tell us what you are worried about and we will tell you what covers it
Send your age, your family history and the dates you have in mind. If you have had a mammogram or a smear before, send those too. A physician reads it and says whether this panel answers your question or whether something should be added. There is no charge for that.
Coming to Istanbul for the Day
The cytology sample decides the date, so choose the week before you choose the flight. Send two or three possible windows and the coordinator picks the one that works.
Arrive the evening before so the fast runs overnight, spend the middle day at the hospital, and keep the third free in case the mammogram calls for extra views or an ultrasound.
Passport, medication list, and above all any previous mammogram, ultrasound or smear report. Comparison is what turns a single set of images into a real assessment.
Consultations run directly in your language. The in-house team covers English, Arabic, French, Russian, Serbian, Romanian and Spanish, with others arranged when you name one at booking.
A car meets you at the airport and runs between hotel and hospital. Two relatives may come into the examinations with you. Passports requiring a visa get an invitation letter around ten days before departure.
Your cytology report follows once the laboratory releases it. The same WhatsApp number stays open afterwards, and a repeat marker level done locally next year can be sent back for comparison.
Reading a Cancer Screening Quote Properly
Cancer screening panels are the easiest kind to advertise and the hardest kind to compare, because a long list of tumor markers looks impressive and costs very little to run. The imaging is where the real difference sits. Five questions will show you what you are actually buying.
No figure appears on this page. A number printed here would be wrong for most women who read it, and out of date within a season. Send the team your age and the weeks you have in mind, and you get back a line-by-line breakdown covering the panel and anything you asked about. That costs nothing.
