How the Three Days Are Laid Out
Day One, Bloods, Imaging and the Monitor
A single fasting draw covers all fifty-four laboratory tests, with the urine and stool samples handed in beside it. Most of the blood results come back the same day. Breakfast follows the draw, then the ultrasound scans, the CT, the MRI and the mammography. The blood pressure monitor is fitted before you leave and stays on overnight.
Day Two, Consultations and the Bowel Preparation
The monitor comes off and the cardiologist reads it alongside your stress ECG and echocardiogram. Gynecology takes the Thin-Prep sample, and the ear, nose and throat, eye, chest, dental and dietician appointments run through the day. Your bowel preparation starts that evening under written instructions.
Day Three, Endoscopy, Then the Closing Review
Both procedures happen in one sedated session, so you sleep through them and wake with them finished. The gastroenterologist describes what was seen as soon as you are awake. Once you have recovered and eaten, the check-up physician goes through every result gathered over the three days and hands over the written report.
Afterwards, the Pathology in Five to Seven Days
Most of the blood work is already in your hands before you fly, because those results arrive the same day they are taken. Tissue is slower. The stomach and colon biopsies and the Thin-Prep cytology are processed and read under a microscope, which takes five to seven days, so those reports reach you once you are home. Where anything needs discussing, the relevant doctor goes through it with you instead of leaving you with a document.
Getting Ready
Both procedures are performed under sedation, and a bowel cleansing preparation is taken the day before the colonoscopy.
Written instructions come from the team well before you fly, covering the low-residue diet, the timing of the preparation and which of your regular medicines to pause. Blood thinners and diabetes medication in particular need discussing in advance.
Bring someone with you for that day. Sedation rules out driving or traveling alone afterwards. Expect a quiet evening.
Pap Smear Instructions: Please schedule your Pap smear when you are not menstruating. For 48 hours before the test, avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal medications, creams, lubricants, and douching.
The Thin-Prep sample follows the same rules, so tell the coordinator where you are in your cycle while the dates are still open. Anything coating the cervix can obscure the cells and force a repeat.
Fasting applies on the first morning for the blood work and the abdominal scan, and again on the endoscopy day. Water stays allowed until the times the instructions give you.
The blood pressure monitor is worn for a full 24 hours, cuff included, and it inflates while you sleep. Loose sleeves make that easier, and you carry on with an ordinary day as usual.
Pack your medication list, your glasses, comfortable clothes and any results you already hold. Earlier mammograms matter most of all, since a radiologist comparing this year against last year sees changes that a single image cannot show.

What Screening on This Scale Can and Cannot Settle
Wide screening finds harmless things too. A CT and an MRI of a healthy woman will often show a small nodule, a cyst or a spot that turns out to be nothing at all. That is normal, and it is why every image here is read by a radiologist and then explained by a physician who tells you plainly whether it needs watching, needs acting on, or needs neither.
Tumor markers are monitoring tools. CA 125 in particular rises with endometriosis, fibroids and ordinary ovulation, so a raised figure on its own means very little. Their value here is a personal baseline, read on the day beside your scans and your examinations.
A clear result covers today and buys you a schedule. Colonoscopy buys years before the next one is due, and everything else works on an annual or biennial rhythm. The closing consultation tells you when each item should next be repeated, so the report is a schedule as much as a snapshot.
