Eight hours without food covers the glucose, the lipid profile and the abdominal ultrasound in one go, so a normal dinner and nothing afterwards is all it takes.

A small stool sample is required for the fecal occult blood test. A sterile sample container will be provided by our team.

Most women forget this one, so it travels with the appointment confirmation instead of appearing as a surprise at the desk. The test looks for bleeding you cannot see, which is how bowel cancer is caught while it is still easy to treat.

Please schedule your Pap smear when you are not menstruating. For 48 hours before the test, avoid sexual intercourse, vaginal medications, creams, lubricants, and douching.

Mention where you are in your cycle when you ask for dates, and the coordinator sets the appointment around it instead of around a sample that cannot be read.

Screening assumes a woman who feels broadly fine. If something is already wrong, flying abroad is the slow and expensive route to an answer, and we would rather say so before you buy a ticket.

• Bleeding between periods, after intercourse, or from the bowel
• Unexplained weight loss, or a diagnosis already under investigation

One night to arrive and start the fast at dinner, one for the check-up, one held free in case a scan leads to a second look. Set the dates outside your period so the smear can be taken.

Nothing here is invasive beyond one blood draw and the smear, so no medical restriction applies to the flight back.

Say so in your first message and the request goes to the department, which accommodates it wherever the rota allows. The same goes for the mammography and ultrasound rooms.

The team works in English, Arabic, French, Russian, Serbian, Romanian and Spanish, and other languages are arranged on request. One coordinator stays with you throughout.

The office arranges airport transfers and hotel transport. Two family members can come into the examination rooms. Where a visa is needed, the invitation letter goes out ten days or so before travel.

Your smear result follows by e-mail, and the coordinator stays reachable on the same WhatsApp number, so a question on any value in the report still gets answered weeks later.
