Prof. Dr. Birnur Yılmaz is a radiologist specializing in thorax, abdomen, and cardiac CT angiography, as well as prostate, paediatric, and breast radiology. She completed her undergraduate medical education at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine and earned her Master's Degree in the Department of Radiology at Pamukkale University. She progressed through academic ranks at Okan University, from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor and then Professor, and currently practices at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. Her research has focused extensively on elastography, interventional radiology, and vascular imaging techniques, resulting in a substantial body of international peer-reviewed publications. She has served on the editorial boards of several scientific journals and is a member of the European Society of Radiology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Turkish Society of Radiology, and several other professional societies. She was named Doctor of the Year by the Ministry of Health in 2008 and placed first in Turkey on the Turkish Society of Radiology Board Examination in 2007.
