Specialist Surgeon Dr. Metin Süleymanzade is an ophthalmologist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
He completed his medical education at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Gülhane Military Medical Faculty, in Ankara between 2008 and 2014, and his ophthalmology specialty training at Gülhane Training and Research Hospital between 2015 and 2019.
He worked at the Azerbaijan Armed Forces Central Military Hospital (2019–2021), at Private Hospitalist Hospital (2021) and at Beylikdüzü Kolan Hospital (2021–2022) before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
His clinical interests include corneal diseases, refractive surgery, cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery and glaucoma.
In 2018 he passed the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) examinations in Basic Science and in Optics and Refraction. He has completed Turkish Ophthalmological Association courses on cornea, refractive surgery and contact lenses, glaucoma skill transfer, applied optics, refraction and low vision rehabilitation, uveal diseases, and cataract and refractive surgery, as well as the Academy for Eyecare Excellence contact lens programme. He is a member of the Turkish Ophthalmological Association (TOD).
