Specialist Dr. Tural TALIBOV

Dr. Tural Talibov is a neurologist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in Istanbul, where he has practised since 2026. His work covers the full breadth of general neurology, with particular emphasis on headache and migraine, epilepsy, sleep disorders and neurodegenerative disease.

He earned his medical degree from Azerbaijan Medical University between 2009 and 2015, and completed his specialist training in neurology at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology, between 2017 and 2022.

Dr. Talibov worked in the Department of Neurology at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine from March 2017 to June 2022, and spent an international clinical period at the Atkinson Morley Neurosciences Centre, St. George's, in early 2022. He then practised at Private Bayrampaşa Kolan Hospital from October 2022 to May 2025 and at Istanbul Health and Technology University, Department of Neurology, from October 2024 to September 2025, before joining Biruni University Hospital.

His clinical interests include headache, particularly botulinum toxin treatment and greater occipital nerve (GON) block in chronic migraine, dizziness, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, EMG and EEG, cerebrovascular disease and stroke, epilepsy, sleep disorders including insomnia, narcolepsy and sleep apnoea, multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases, and peripheral nerve and muscle diseases.

Dr. Talibov has published in international peer-reviewed journals including Epilepsy & Behavior, Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders, Balkan Medical Journal and Cureus, with research spanning psychiatric comorbidity and stigmatisation in epilepsy, neuro-Behçet's disease, nerve conduction studies and rare headache syndromes, and has presented his work at national neurology and epilepsy congresses. He is a member of the Turkish Neurological Society, the European Academy of Neurology, the Istanbul Medical Chamber, the Sleep Medicine and Research Society and the Global Migraine and Pain Society.
