Prof. Dr. Burçak Yılmaz is a nuclear medicine specialist focusing on radionuclide therapies, PET-CT and PET-MRI imaging and reporting, and conventional nuclear medicine imaging including SPECT/CT and gamma camera studies. She graduated as valedictorian from Bahçeşehir College before completing her medical education and residency in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, later earning her PhD in Nuclear Medicine from the same institution and pursuing a further PhD in Molecular Oncology at the University of Health Sciences. Her career includes an observership at the University of Washington and a postdoctoral scholarship at Oregon Health and Science University, alongside academic and specialist roles across several Turkish institutions affiliated with the University of Health Sciences and Medipol University, before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital as Associate Professor. Her research has focused extensively on PSMA and FAPI PET/CT imaging in oncology, resulting in a substantial body of international peer-reviewed publications, including work published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. She is a member of the Turkish Nuclear Medicine Association and received a Certificate of Merit from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) in 2017.
