Prof. Dr. Bilge Bayraktar is a neonatologist specializing in premature baby follow-up, neonatal follow-up after surgery, congenital metabolic diseases, and pain management in newborns. She earned her medical degree from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine before completing her specialization in Pediatrics and then Neonatology at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine. Her career included establishing the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Gaziantep Children's Hospital during her state obligation service, and later founding and heading the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Bezmialem Vakıf University, where she also served as Term III coordinator and a member of the Faculty Board and Infection Control Committee. She spent time as an observer in the Department of Neonatology at Meriter Hospital, University of Wisconsin, USA, in 2011. She currently serves at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital as Vice Dean since April 2022, and chairs the hospital's Medical Ethics Committee while also serving on its Baby Friendly Committee. She is a member of the Turkish Neonatology Association and the Turkish Pediatric Association.
