Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk ALVER

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Alver is an anesthesiologist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 2009 and his specialization in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Bezm-i Âlem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine in 2015, later receiving the title of Associate Professor at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine. His career includes general practice at Adıyaman 82nd Year State Hospital (2009–2011), residency at Bezm-i Âlem Vakıf University (2011–2015), specialist positions at Çankırı State Hospital (2015–2017) and the Memorial Şişli Hospital Intensive Care Unit (2017–2018), an assistant professorship at Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Medicine (2018–2024) and an associate professorship at Medicana Zincirlikuyu Hospital (2024–2025) before joining Biruni University in 2025.

His clinical and research interests include ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and novel interfascial plane block techniques, anesthesia for obesity surgery, thoracic and cardiovascular anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, obstetric anesthesia and painless labour analgesia. He has authored numerous articles in leading international anesthesiology journals, including studies describing novel regional anesthesia techniques, and contributed chapters to national textbooks. He is a member of the Turkish Society of Anaesthesiology and Reanimation, the Association of Regional Anaesthesia and the Turkish Intensive Care Society.
