Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysel TAKTAK

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysel Taktak is a pediatric nephrologist specializing in kidney transplantation, nephrotic syndrome, hypertension, urinary tract infections, congenital kidney anomalies, urinary incontinence, and kidney stones, currently practicing at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. She graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2007 and completed her pediatrics specialization (Master's Degree) at Dr. Sami Ulus Training and Research Hospital in 2012, followed by a Ph.D. in Pediatric Nephrology at Ankara Hematology Oncology Training and Research Hospital in 2016. She fulfilled her compulsory service as a pediatrics specialist at Kars State Hospital (2012–2013) and later as a pediatric nephrology specialist at Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital (2016–2020). She subsequently served as Assistant Professor at Mustafa Kemal University Faculty of Medicine (2020–2021) and Associate Professor at Istanbul Aydın University (2021–2025), before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Pediatric Nephrology in 2023. Her research has focused extensively on pediatric nephrology and rheumatology, resulting in a substantial body of international and national peer-reviewed publications and book chapters. She is a member of the Turkish Pediatric Nephrology Association and the Turkish Pediatric Rheumatology and Nephrology Association.
