Assistant Professor Yıldırım Mehmet Ramazanoğlu is a paediatrician and neurologist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
He graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1979 and trained in Switzerland, completing his specialisation in Paediatrics at the University of Bern Faculty of Medicine in 1984 and in Neurology at the University of Lausanne Faculty of Medicine in 1988.
He worked at the University of Bern Faculty of Medicine (1980–1984) and the University of Lausanne Faculty of Medicine (1984–1988), and later at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Medicine (2016–2019), before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
His clinical interests span general paediatrics, growth and development monitoring, childhood asthma and allergy, vaccination and preventive medicine, alongside neurological conditions including epilepsy, headache, vertigo, polyneuropathy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.
His published research covers cardiorespiratory adaptation to physical training in asthmatic children, paediatric drug monitoring and neurological case studies, published in Swiss and international journals, and he has contributed chapters on child development and child abuse to Turkish family medicine textbooks. He is a member of the Swiss Medical Association (FMH), the Turkish Medical Association and several professional bodies, and speaks English, German, French, Italian and Arabic.
