Assistant Professor Umut Balatacı

Assistant Professor Umut Balatacı is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 2013 and completed his specialization training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Uludağ University in 2021.

He worked as a physician in the emergency department at Çatalca State Hospital (2013–2015) and a private hospital (2015–2017). He later served as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist at Ministry of Health Kahta State Hospital (from September 2021) and Karabük University (from February 2025), before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in 2026.

His clinical interests include child and adolescent psychiatric assessment, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and neurodevelopmental evaluation.

He has given oral presentations at scientific meetings and completed a resident thesis on psychometric assessment in child and adolescent psychiatry. He is a member of the Turkish Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (OGEPDER), the Turkish Psychiatry Association (TPD) and the Turkish Medical Association (HEKİMSEN).
