Assistant Professor Şafak SAYAR

Assistant Professor Şafak Sayar is an orthopaedic surgeon at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

Dr. Sayar graduated from Istanbul Bilim University Faculty of Medicine in 2008 and completed residency training in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Bezmialem Vakıf University Faculty of Medicine in 2016.

After working as a general practitioner at Çorum State Hospital and Oğuzlar Community Health Centre in 2008, Dr. Sayar served as an orthopaedics and traumatology specialist at Yüksekova State Hospital (2016–2017), as an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at Medipol University Esenler Training and Research Hospital (2017–2020) and at Şişli Kolan International Hospital (2020–2021), before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in 2023.

Clinical interests include arthroscopic surgery of the meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament, knee and hip arthroplasty, sports injury surgery and deformity surgery.

Dr. Sayar has published fourteen articles in international peer-reviewed journals and contributed seven international book chapters, and received a first-place oral presentation award at the 28th National Turkish Orthopaedics and Traumatology Congress in 2018. Dr. Sayar is a member of the Turkish Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (TOTBID).
