Assistant Professor Özcan Çıklatekerlio is a neurosurgeon at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

He graduated from GATA Gülhane Faculty of Medicine in 1987 and completed his neurosurgery residency training at the same institution in 1996.

He then worked in the Department of Neurosurgery at Benjamin Franklin University in Berlin (1996–2000) and in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Colorado (2000–2003), followed by thirteen years at Acıbadem International Hospital (2003–2016), before joining Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

His clinical interests include spinal surgery, brain tumours, trauma surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.

His research focuses on intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, including motor and somatosensory evoked potentials and the effect of brain shift on monitoring accuracy, with articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society, the Turkish Spinal Surgery Association, the German Society of Neurosurgery (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Neurochirurgie), the North American Spine Society and the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies.
