Assistant Professor Koray Koçhan is a gastroenterologist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
He completed his undergraduate education in the English Medicine Program of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine (1999-2005) and his residency in Internal Medicine at the same institution (2005-2010). Following compulsory service at Bayburt State Hospital (2010-2011), he completed his subspecialty training in Gastroenterology at the University of Health Sciences Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital (2011-2015).
He served as a gastroenterology specialist at Ağrı State Hospital (2015-2016) and Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital (2016-2017), then as lecturer and specialist at the Division of Gastroenterology of Bezmialem Vakıf University (2017-2023) and at Private Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul (2024) before joining Biruni University in 2025.
His clinical interests include inflammatory bowel diseases, oesophageal and stomach diseases, celiac disease, clinical enteral and parenteral nutrition, hepatology, bile duct and pancreas diseases, gastrointestinal endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and ERCP.
His research spans acute pancreatitis, artificial intelligence applications in gastroenterology and inflammatory bowel disease, with numerous articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of the Turkish Gastroenterological Association, the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Association, the Turkish Association of Liver Research, the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Association, the Lifestyle Medicine Association and the Clinical Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition Association.
