Assistant Professor Gültekin Akyol is an emergency medicine specialist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine in 2012 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2018.
His career began with general practice at Anamur and Bozyazı State Hospitals, followed by his residency at the Department of Emergency Medicine of Akdeniz University and a specialist position at the University of Health Sciences Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Training and Research Hospital before joining Biruni University in 2025.
His clinical interests include emergency medicine, emergency ultrasonography, pediatric emergency medicine, toxicology and trauma.
He is a member of the Turkish Emergency Medicine Foundation, the Pediatric Emergency Working Group and the Turkish Emergency Medicine Association.
