Assistant Professor Ece GÜLTEKİN

Assistant Professor Ece Gültekin is a pediatric neurologist at Biruni University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.

She completed her undergraduate medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine (2000-2006), her residency in Pediatrics at Şişli Etfal Training and Research Hospital (2007-2012) and her subspecialty training in Pediatric Neurology at Medipol University (2014-2017).

Her career began as a research assistant at the Department of Physiology of Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine (2006-2007), followed by compulsory service as a pediatrician at Şanlıurfa Suruç State Hospital (2012-2014) and as a pediatric neurologist at Istanbul Gaziosmanpaşa Training and Research Hospital (2017-2020). She served as Assistant Professor at Istinye University Hospital (2020-2024) before joining Biruni University in 2024.

Her clinical interests include epilepsy and treatment of resistant epilepsy, febrile seizures, sleep disorders, cerebral palsy, high-risk infant follow-up, speech and walking delays, autism, headache, migraine and neurodevelopmental delay.

She has contributed chapters on convulsions, febrile seizures and epilepsy to a leading Turkish pediatrics textbook and presented her research at national and international congresses including the American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting. She is a member of the Turkish Medical Association and the Child Neurology Association of Turkey.
